UPDATED: fileX SFTP SSH Ciphers and Algorithms Production Date Changed to March 21, 2026
FINRA is providing an updated timeline for the security enhancements to the fileX SFTP SSH Ciphers and Algorithms in PRODUCTION.
NEW PRODUCTION DATE: March 21, 2026 at 11 AM ET
The previously announced February 28, 2026 implementation date has been moved to March 21, 2026.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If you transfer files via fileX SFTP, you must update your system configurations to use the newly supported SSH Ciphers and Algorithms before March 21, 2026. Failure to update will result in an inability to access fileX via SFTP.
What You Need to Do:
- Review the list of newly supported Ciphers and Algorithms here
- Update your systems before the March 21, 2026 deadline
- Test your connection in the QA or CT environment
