Below are the key dates related to Form U4 Residential Supervisory Location (RSL) Update for FINRA API and WEBEFT users. For additional information related to RSL, see here.
| December 6th, 2024 | - Date by which RSL completeness check in U4 submissions is turned on in the QAINT environment.
- Once the completeness check is turned on, test U4 submissions will fail if RSL value is not provided for any non-registered private residence.
- The completeness check is applicable only for U4 submissions made via FINRA Gateway UI and FINRA API Developer Center. See here for API payload samples for an RSL update.
- The completeness check will not be applied to U4 submissions made via WEBEFT. In addition, WEBEFT will also not support any RSL update via U4 filings.
- Residential Supervisory Location Report in FINRA Gateway can be used to get a list of residential locations that might need RSL update.

| December 26th , 2024 | - Date by which firms that have identified a location as a non-registered private residence is or is not an RSL are required to answer Form U4’s RSL Question as either “Yes” or “No”. See RSL FAQ here for more info.

| January 6th, 2025 | - Date by which RSL completeness check in U4 submissions is turned on in the PROD environment.
- Once the completeness check is turned on, U4 submissions will fail if RSL flag value is not provided for any private residence. The completeness check is applicable only for U4 submissions made via FINRA Gateway UI and FINRA API Developer Center.
- The completeness check will not be applied to U4 submissions made via WEBEFT. In addition, WEBEFT will also not support any RSL update via U4 filings.
- Although the completeness check will not be implemented until January 6th, firms are still obligated to report on RSL flag for non-registered private residence by Dec 26th 2024, see RSL Key Dates here for more info.
